Berlin's Best: 2 Hour Walking Tour Third Reich and the Cold War
Join our award winning tour and discover Berlin’s dramatic 20th-century history on a guided walking tour of the city’s most important Third Reich and Cold War sites. Visit iconic landmarks including the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, and the Soviet War Memorial, while learning about the final days of World War II and the division of Berlin that followed. Reflect at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, a powerful tribute to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Stand above the site of Hitler’s Bunker, see the former Ministry of Aviation, where the East German state was founded in 1949, and explore the grounds of the former Gestapo and SS headquarters, today home to the Topography of Terror exhibition. Learn about the construction of the Berlin Wall, the heavily guarded “death strip,” and the daring escape attempts made by those seeking freedom. The tour concludes at Checkpoint Charlie, where you’ll hear the story of the Wall’s fall in 1989 and Germany’s reunification.
