Step into the Arctic night and embark on an unforgettable hunt for one of nature's most extraordinary phenomena – the Northern Lights. Narvik is widely regarded as one of the world's best destinations for aurora viewing. Located beneath the Auroral Oval, the zone where northern lights occur most frequently, Narvik enjoys an ideal position for observing this natural wonder. Departing directly from Narvik Harbour, we travel in a comfortable coach through spectacular fjord and mountain scenery. But the northern lights are more than a scientific phenomenon. For generations, they have inspired stories, beliefs, and legends across the Arctic. Along the way, your guides will share fascinating local history and Sámi traditions connected to the dancing lights. In Sámi folklore, the aurora was often regarded as a powerful and mysterious force moving across the night sky – something to be respected, admired, and never taken lightly.
Join us for a small-group Northern Lights adventure from Bodø where we go all-in to give you the best possible chance of seeing the Aurora. We follow the weather, cloud cover and Aurora forecasts throughout the evening and use our local knowledge to decide where to go. If conditions around Bodø are not favourable, we go further into the countryside, sometimes towards the Swedish border. We don’t have a fixed turnaround time. When conditions are challenging but there is still a realistic chance of seeing the Northern Lights, we stay out longer, giving the skies more time to clear. Some nights this means returning to Bodø as late as around 2 AM. Our approach has resulted in an Aurora sighting rate of around 85%. We travel in a comfortable Mercedes 4WD van with a maximum of six guests. We’ll share local knowledge about the landscape and the Aurora, take high-quality photos for you, and provide warm drinks and snacks. Warm clothing and headlamps are also available if needed.

On selected departures, we use a hydrophone to help locate whales beneath the surface. We follow responsible whale watching practices at all times. And if no whales are seen, your Whale Pass allows you to join another tour free of charge.
Visit Saltstraumen when the current is at its strongest and admire the enormous forces of Mother Earth. The timing for this varies from day to day, and when it is a new moon or full moon, the current is extra strong. We have timetables which we use to get the best experience.
